Phytopharmaceuticals
Medicinal products of plant origin represent a wide variety of products. For example, medicinal teas made from dried parts of the plant as well as oily or aqueous extracts, tinctures or natural ointments fall under the designation phytopharmaceuticals. In contrast to synthetic active ingredients, which usually consist of clearly defined individual substances, phytopharmaceuticals are mixtures of many substances. On the quality control of a mixture of many substances with regard to identity, content and purity is much more difficult than that of a single molecule. In addition to the number of analytes, the often complex plant sample matrices are another analytical challenge. INTERLABOR has decades of experience in the field of quality assurance of phytopharmaceuticals and a correspondingly extensive service portfolio.
